Welcome to the window into the Academic Affairs Office for the College of Engineering & Computer Science (CECS).
This office serves as the primary resource within the college that provides the service and support to the students and faculty to be successful in all aspects of their professional life at UCF. We are here to provide a first destination to discuss any academic matters in the college and facilitate the progress to graduation for our students through high quality advising. Our office houses a number of well trained, thorough and caring academic advisors who are focused on the success of each student and to provide responsive and accurate information.
The Academic Affairs Office is strategically located in the structure of the college to interact with each of the constituents through the administration of academic curriculum and policy, student success and academic misconduct. It interacts closely with the UCF Academic Affairs in matters of undergraduate policy and curriculum. It also serves as a liaison to Faculty Excellence for administering faculty success and evaluation. We coordinate CECS scholarships for students and awards and accolades that the college grants to all. Additionally, we manage the accreditation process for all the degree programs in the college working closely with UCF Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
The main aim of the AAO office is to provide ‘solutions’ to challenging problems that have and will continue to emerge as we continue to grow in prominence and prestige. Being a large college in terms of enrollment of undergraduate students, we are often faced with many challenges in managing our resources while providing a very high level of service to the students. This office also works closely with the Associate Dean for Graduate Affairs in matters dealing with graduate education and policies.
The website contains important information. The college offers 11 undergraduate degree programs and 9 minors along with a joint degree program with the College of Optics and Photonics. A description of Engineering Pending Status and Declaring an Engineering Major is presented there also. Critical information on Acaemic Policies, Advising Resources and Forms is provided. CECS Progress Policy Readmission and change of major details are listed.
Prospective students interested in any of the undergraduate degree programs should start here but are also welcome to visit us at university open houses either on campus or virtually. Lastly, information related to CECS scholarships and awards is also provided.
Our college is very proud of its diversity and inclusion and more information on the ongoing efforts in providing a welcoming environment for all our students, faculty and staff is available at https://diversity.cecs.ucf.edu/.
Thank you for spending some time with this site. I hope you find this useful to explore and learn more about the work of the AAO, our undergraduate academic programs and other support services. I appreciate your interest in the College of Engineering and Computer Science. Now that you have looked at us through the window of this website, we look forward to seeing you walk in through the doors.
